What is COME 2 B Dementia-Friendly Marlborough?

COME 2 B Dementia-Friendly Marlborough (Communities Of Massachusetts Engage to be Dementia Friendly) is a grassroots volunteer-driven collaboration to prepare the Marlborough community to be dementia friendly.  It creates an informed, safe and respectful community for people with dementia and their families and caregivers, and provides supportive options that foster quality of life.

What does creating a dementia-friendly community involve?

• Rising awareness about Alzheimer’s, transforming attitudes, and moving people to action.

• Supporting family and friend caregivers by providing accessible information, resources, and in-person support.

• Promoting meaningful participation in community life for everyone.

• Including communities that experience inequities because of race, ethnicity, culture, language, sexual orientation, gender identity, mental illness, hearing/sensory differences, intellectual or physical abilities, and economic status.
